A successful year

As we approach the end of 2021, we’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of our supporters who have contributed to Merton Giving this year including our fabulous fundraisers, generous donors, our funding panel members who have had a busy year and our steering committee.

With your support, we have been able to give a total of £368,227 via 75 grants to 56 different organisations through a total of 11 panel meetings.  These grants have helped to fund projects, including the following, to help make a positive difference in our local community;

A youth outreach theatre project to support vulnerable young people, an early intervention programme to support vulnerable families in east Merton, weekly toddler groups; after school clubs and parenting courses for disadvantaged families and children in Mitcham, coaching and peer support service for women who have experienced domestic abuse; the continuation of a volunteer-led lunch club supporting older; vulnerable residents, bereavement services and group meetings to support elders; provision of advice, support and casework assistance in benefit and debit matters; art therapy support sessions to help isolated people; Project Preloved sewing workshops for beginners to tackle loneliness and a cross generational project to creative an inclusive winter production including free workshops for Merton residents.

We will share stories of the projects next year so you can see for yourself the positive impact they have had.

In addition to our grant giving, our most recent campaign, A Gift For All, saw over 1500 Christmas presents being gifted to local residents who might not have other wise received one.

Thank you to each and every one of you and we wish you a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.
